Description: This is a place that was very dear to me as I'm certain that it was to many residents of the Big Island. I, with many of my friends taught our children to swim in this beautiful swimming area. We all miss its magical vibration that was obvious and always present. On March 31 of 1990 an eruption coming down from the Kilauea Crater covered it forever.
